The Annual General Meeting of the ExPolice Cadets Association of NSW Inc., is due to be held in July, 2009 Date to be advised.

At the AGM held on 7^th July, 2008 a committee was formed however it appears to have been a committee in name only with little or no information being passed on to members.

As it stands at the moment there has not been a committee meeting since the last Annual General Meeting and whilst it would be quite understandable that we NOT have any function this year given the huge effort that went into the 75th Anniversary, we think it would have, at least, been a good idea for the Committee to get together and discuss future directions for the Association.  Even this small step has not occurred and here we are almost to the time for another A.G.M. 

The pity of all this is that the previous committee put in a lot of work over 3 to 4 years not only to organise reunions (especially the 75th anniversary reunion) but also to incorporate the association; prepare and print a history of the Cadet Service; organise a web site; and build membership to over 600 ex-cadets.  None of this would have occurred without the involvement of individual Committee members in various ways.  In other words the Association was left by that Committee in good order and with ample funds.  Now we don't and didn't expect any future committee to try and compete with this but at least there could have been some effort made to keep the momentum particularly by up-dating the web site and by keeping members informed.  This has also not happened.

It is galling to us to have various ex-cadets ask "what is going on?" with the association and "when are we having another get-to-gether?" and have to admit that we don't know.  

As it stands at the moment unless some effort is made to re-energise the Association & get a working committee we can see no other option than to liquidate the Association and pass the remaining assets to Police Legacy.
