A wonderful photograph has emerged depicting four cadets who were attached to the Mounted Section in 1946 exercising horses in Centennial Park.
We have posted the photo in our 'Gallery'. They are from left: Kevin Nivison-Smith, Bob Shepherd, Ray Carpenter and Jack Bailey.
Cadets were regularly used to exercise horses that were not being used in up-coming musical rides or official events.
One of our enthusiastic members, Col Joyce, found the photograph which he also published in the Retired Police Newsletter.
I guess its a pretty fair bet that these young boys were from the country or maybe had a second job out at Randwick!!!
