A rough trip home Posted: Wednesday, June 18, 2008
On the day of the 75th Annivesary Lucheon in Sydney, an anonomous person kindly donated payment for a twenty seater bus from the Central Coast to Darling Habour.  So it was a free trip for those who wanted to avail themselves of it.

The bus first picked up from Ourimbah RSL then the Central Coast Leagues Club at Gosford an onto Sydney.  About a dozen former cadets took the opportunity of using the service.

The trip was quite non-eventful with a lovely young lady as the driver.  It took about a hour and a half or so to get there.

Being keen for an early return most left the function around 3:30pm with the bus eventually getting away from the big smoke about 4:00pm.

One of the obsticles was the Friday peak hour traffic and another was the alcohol.  Some had over embibed at the luncheon whilst others took the liberty of sneaking a couple of the wonderful bottles of wine which were on the tables at the function.

Needless to say one or two of the number were legless.  Some were singing all the way home and others handed round the bottles making the trip all that much longer.  The bus eventually got into Gosford around 7:00pm.

One, who will remain nameless was postrate and couldn't get off the floor.  The poor devil had to be carried off the bus and driven home continually complaining that the other travellers were hiding the grog from him all the way home.

I wonder what the driver thought?
